We have definitely had this issue in the past, but hopefully won’t in the new house. We found out yesterday that due to the ground type (clay) we have to have the most expensive septic system put in – $10,000-$12,000! Not exactly where I would have liked to spend a chunk of money that size, but if it means we never have to deal with a basement full of septic backup again, I’m in!

So many options…

We’ve been looking for just the right piece of land for a few months now and digging through house plans for even longer. Luckily, Brody and I have so far been on the exact same page when it comes down to the layout in the house (fingers crossed that this trend continues!) but we have yet to find the exact layout the we envision in our minds. It’s so easy to get completely immersed in digging through plans and get overwhelmed, and now that we own the land and have 1 year to build the pressure is on! That being said, it is so much fun to filter through plans. Here are a few of our favourites:
